Amen, amen, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone.
Evangelium Ioann 12:24-26
Gospel John 12:24-26
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, Amen, amen, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it brings forth much fruit. He who loves his life, loses it; and he who hates his life in this world, keeps it unto life everlasting. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am there also shall My servant be. If anyone serves me, My Father will honor him.

HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA
Today we celebrate the feast of San Lorenzo, a feast dear to the Christian tradition.
About 50 years after his death, the emperor Constantine had the great basilica built in his honor.
Lorenzo understood that the soldiers wanted to seize the offerings to the church. Lorenzo then had the sum distributed to the poor. San Lorenzo teaches how to give and love to others.
It is therefore necessary to understand and try to understand others, avoiding selfishness, individualism and self-thinking.
The church also invites us to pray for Pope Benedict XVI, of whom little is known and little news is leaking, but more and more worrying every day. To the point of questioning, on the part of the false church, his current role, which as we well know is that of the holder of the Munus Petrino and therefore of the only true pope.
Praised be Jesus Christ!
