DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
E’ il giorno della Nativita’ di Maria! E’ il giorno di festa, il sorgere dell’aurora della redenzione! Cosi aveva profetizzato il profeta Isaia.
Abbiamo udito la genealogia di Gesu’. In tempi biblici si realizza il piano della Provvidenza divina. La luce di Dio comincia a sorgere con la piccola Maria. Resta nascosta perche’ deve prepararsi alla sua missione. Prima della sua nascita c’erano le tenebre. V’erano le profezie della venuta del Messia.
Ora viviamo un tempo simile a quello prima della nascita di Maria! La nostra cultura, la nostra civilta’ ha conosciuto Gesu’, ma a causa della nostra cecita’ l’abbiamo dimenticato.
Dobbiamo quindi ringraziare e festeggiare Maria perche’ e’ il segno della rinascita, il fiore delle virtu’, il ritorno dell’aurora, in preparazione del ritorno di Gesu’.

It is the day of the Nativity of Mary! It is the day of celebration, the dawn of redemption! Thus the prophet Isaiah had prophesied. We have heard the genealogy of Jesus.
In biblical times the plan of divine Providence is realized. The light of God begins to arise with little Mary. It remains hidden because it must prepare for its mission. Before her birth there was darkness. There were the prophecies of the coming of the Messiah.
We are now living in a time similar to that before Mary’s birth! Our culture, our civilty has known Jesus, but because of our blindness we have forgotten it.
We must therefore thank and celebrate Mary because she is the sign of rebirth, the flower of virtues, the return of the dawn, in preparation for the return of Jesus.
