Evangelium Matt 22:34-46
In his duóbus mandátis univérsa lex pendet et prophétæ. Ait illis: Quómodo ergo David in spíritu vocat eum Dóminum, dicens: Dixit Dóminus Dómino meo, sede a dextris meis, donec ponam inimícos tuos scabéllum pedum tuórum?
Gospel Matt 22:34-46
At that time, the Pharisees came to Jesus and one of them, a doctor of the Law, putting Him to the test, asked Him, Master, which is the great commandment in the Law? Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets. Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus questioned them, saying, What do you think of the Christ? Whose son is He? They said to Him, David’s. He said to them, How then does David in the spirit call Him Lord, saying, The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool?’ If David, therefore, calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his son? And no one could answer Him a word; neither did anyone dare from that day forth to ask Him any more questions.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)
As children of God, we are one body and one spirit. But the church is divided.
The main goal is to be united with the Lord, not unity among men. To the extent that we are united with his Vicar, Benedict XVI, we will be united with God.
One is in fact the Lord, one faith, one baptism. The greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.
But do we really do it? We must love our neighbor as ourselves. But loving does not mean meeting any need of the brothers. It is therefore necessary to understand and educate other people.
This week in the vetus ordo is the time of 4 tempora, of prayer and mortification (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday). To obtain the grace of a propitious autumn season, both material and spiritual.
Prayer is part of the first commandment (to love God).
The Lord is gathering to himself his faithful, the elect!
It is the Lord who is forming his Church, his mystical body!
Praised be Jesus Christ!
