DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
Oggi festeggiamo Santa Teresa d’Avila (Avila, 28 marzo 1515 – Alba de Tormes, 15 ottobre 1582). E’ stata una delle figure più importanti della Riforma cattolica. Riformatrice dell’Ordine Carmelitano e fondatrice delle monache e dei frati Carmelitani Scalzi, contribui’ alla fondazione di monasteri in diversi luoghi di Spagna e all’estero. Combatte’ il lassismo all’interno degli ordini religiosi. Entrata nel Carmelo a vent’anni. Ma non vi trovo’ un’oasi di spiritualita’. Dopo 18 anni si accese nel suo cuore un amore intenso per Gesu’ Cristo. Si impegno’ quindi ardentemente nella sua missione di riformatrice.
Il suo impegno massimo era per la preghiera incessante. Si tratta della piu’ grande espressione della fede (l’olio delle lampade).
Anche noi dobbiamo esprimere la nostra fede con la preghiera incessante (la fiamma ardente). L’olio delle lampade significa infatti la preghiera incessante. Il suo impegno era costante. Dedicava tutta se stessa. Ma come faceva a pregare incessantemente?
Non c’e’ solo la preghiera diretta! Ci sono i nostri sacrifici offerti a Dio, le difficolta’ che incontriamo, ma soprattutto l’impegno costante! Si tratta infatti della preghiera in unione al sacrificio di Cristo sulla Croce!
Questa e’ la preghiera continua: l’accettazione del sacrificio quotidiano, offerto a Gesu’ Cristo in espiazione!
Gli apostoli degli ultimi tempi vivranno con il rosario in una mano e la croce nell’altra: Rosario e Croce. Questa e’ la profezia della Madonna!
Preghiamo, anche con l’intercessione di Santa Teresa, per affidare la Chiesa e oggi l’Italia ai cuori SS di Gesu’ e Maria!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Today we celebrate Saint Teresa of Avila (Avila, 28 March 1515 – Alba de Tormes, 15 October 1582). She was one of the most important figures of the Catholic Reformation. Reformer of the Carmelite Order and founder of the Discalced Carmelite nuns and friars, she contributed to the foundation of monasteries in various places in Spain and abroad.
She decided to fight laxity within religious orders. She entered Carmel when she was twenty. But she did’t find an oasis of spirituality. After 18 years an intense love for Jesus Christ was kindled in his heart.
She therefore committed herself ardently to her mission as a reformer. Her greatest commitment was to incessant prayer.
It is the greatest expression of faith (the oil of the lamps).
We too must express our faith with unceasing intensity (the burning flame). The oil of the lamps means incessant prayer. His commitment was constant. She devoted herself entirely.
But how did she pray incessantly? There is not only direct prayer! There are our sacrifices offered to God, the difficulties we encounter!
It is a question of prayer in union with the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross! This is continuous prayer: the acceptance of the daily sacrifice offered to Jesus Christ in atonement!
The apostles of the last times will live with the rosary in one hand and the cross in the other: Rosary and Cross. This is Our Lady’s prophecy!
Let us pray, also with the intercession of Saint Teresa, to entrust the Church and today Italy to the most holy hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
