Evangelium Ioann 15:17-25
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis: Hæc mando vobis, ut diligátis ínvicem. Si mundus vos odit: scitóte, quia me priórem vobis odio hábuit.
Gospel John 15:17-25
At that time, Jesus said to His disciples, These things I command you, that you may love one another. If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before you. If you were of the world, the world would love what is its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I have spoken to you: No servant is greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you also; if they have kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him Who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin. But now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them works such as no one else has done, they would have no sin. But now they have seen, and have hated both Me and My Father; but that the word written in their Law may be fulfilled, ‘They have hated Me without cause.’
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – 28 ottobre 2021
Noi apparteniamo a Cristo!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)
Jesus said to his disciples: «This I command you: to love one another reciprocally. If the world hates you, know that it hated me before it hated you. ” And again “If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you too, if they have kept my word, they will also keep yours.”
We celebrate the feast of Simon (Cananao) and Judas (Zealot), celebrated together because together on a mission probably in Mesopotamia. They taught what they had received from the Lord.
Today we recite the Creed that contains all the truths proclaimed by Jesus Christ and transmitted by his apostles, including Simon Cananeo and Judas Zelota. We therefore invoke these two great saints for the protection of the Church.
Jesus commands us to love one another. And he warns us that the world hates us. We must therefore be ready to suffer persecution, even in some violent regions of the world.
But normally the Christian is not understood. This is because we are in the world but we do not belong to it. We belong to Christ!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
