DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
Eccli 31:8-11.
Beátus vir, qui invéntus est sine mácula, et qui post aurum non ábiit, nec sperávit in pecúnia et thesáuris.
Luc 12:35-40
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis: Sint lumbi vestri præcíncti, et lucernæ ardéntes in mánibus vestris, et vos símiles homínibus exspectántibus dóminum suum.
Oggi ricordiamo Sant’Andrea Avellino, al secolo Lancellotto Avellino (Castronuovo di Sant’Andrea, 1521 – Napoli, 10 novembre 1608). Studio’ diritto a Napoli. E’ stato un presbitero e religioso italiano dell’Ordine dei Chierici Regolari Teatini, proclamato santo nel 1712 da papa Clemente XI. La sua attivita’ di avvocato lo mise in difficolta’ con la sua coscienza. Si allontano’ dalla professione per dedicarsi alla preghiera per la salvezza delle anime. Entro’ nell’ordine dei teatini che si dedicavano alla cura pastorale dei poveri e dei giovani. Mori ai piedi dell’altare. La croce di Cristo rimase cosi’, anche emblematicamente, al centro della sua vita.
Anche noi dobbiamo seguire il suo esempio. La croce di Cristo e’ infatti l’unica via di salvezza
Altri verranno condannati per il loro rifiuto della sofferenza e della croce di Cristo, ma noi dobbiamo rivolgerci al Cristo!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Today we remember Sant’Andrea Avellino, aka Lancellotto Avellino (Castronuovo di Sant’Andrea, 1521 – Naples, 10 November 1608).
He studies law in Naples. He was an Italian presbyter and religious of the Order of the Theatine Clerics, proclaimed a saint in 1712 by Pope Clement XI.
His activity as a lawyer put him in trouble with his conscience. They moved away from profession to devote themselves to prayer for the salvation of souls.
He entered the order of the Theatines who dedicated themselves to the pastoral care of the poor and young people. He died at the foot of the altar.
The cross of Christ thus remained, even emblematically, at the center of his life.
We too must follow his example.
The cross of Christ is in fact the only way of salvation Others will be condemned for their rejection of the suffering and cross of Christ, but we must turn to Christ!
