EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\GOSPEL AND HOMILY:
Evangelium Matt 5:13-19
In illo témpore: Dixit Iesus discípulis suis: Vos estis sal terræ.
Gospel Matt 5:13-19
At that time Jesus said to His disciples: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its strength, what shall it be salted with? It is no longer of any use but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a lamp and put it under the measure, but upon the lampstand, so as to give light to all in the house. Even so let your light shine before men, in order that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. Do not think that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For amen I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall be lost from the Law till all things have been accomplished. Therefore whoever does away with one of these least commandments, and so teaches men, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever carries them out and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – SABATO 4 DICEMBRE, S.MESSA ORE 8.00
DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
2 Tim 4:1-8
Prædica verbum, insta opportúne, importúne: árgue, óbsecra, íncrepa in omni patiéntia, et doctrína.
Matt 5:13-19
Per disposizione divina fu scelto all’episcopato.

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)
2 Tim. 4:1-8
Preach the word, be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, entreat, rebuke with all patience and teaching.
Matt 5:13-19
But whoever carries them out and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
On this advent and Saturday dedicated to the Immaculate Conception (a few days before the feast) we celebrate St. Peter Crisologo (Imola, late 4th century – Imola, 2 December 450), former bishop of Ravenna.
By divine arrangement he was chosen to the episcopate.
A great and acute preacher (nicknamed Chrysologist, from the Greek, “with the golden words”), he left us the texts of many of his homilies. They are concise comments of the biblical texts. For this reason in 1729 he was proclaimed Doctor of the Church by Pope Benedict XIII.
Examples of life, and also teaching are important.
Even in these difficult times when the word of the Gospel is rejected. We try to sow.
he Lord wants us to be like the light of the candlestick, the salt. We must not lose the flavor or the light.
Our testimony must be incisive, that is, lead people to reflect.
May our faith grow so that we can carry your word effectively!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
