Evangelium Luc 3:1-6

Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea, and Herod tetrarch of Galilee, and Philip his brother tetrarch of the district of Iturea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiphas, the word of God came to John, the son of Zachary, in the desert. And he went into all the region about the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, The voice of one crying in the desert, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord, make straight His paths. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low, and the crooked ways shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth; and all mankind shall see the salvation of God.’

Giovanni Battista e’ voce di uno che grida nel deserto. La sua missione e’ urgente. Il Signore e’ vicino per portare il Suo Regno!. Dobbiamo preparare le sue vie!
Questa voce risuona ancora oggi. Non solo perche’ tra tre giorni e’ Natale.
Ma perche’ il ritorno del Signore e’ prossimo. Ritorno che dara’ vita al Regno di Dio. Non c’e’ piu’ tempo! Occorre la nostra conversione immediata!
Il Vangelo nomina le cariche pubbliche e religiose al tempo della nascita di Gesu’. Dio ha i suoi piani misteriosi. La Sua parola viene portata nel deserto e non nel tempio.
Per questo non si deve giudicare secondo le apparenze! Il discernimento non si puo’ ottenere in fretta! Occorre la ponderatezza che e’ accompagnata dalla luce che viene da Dio.
Impariamo questo insegnamento per poter capire i segni che il Signore ci manda!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

John the Baptist is the voice of one crying out in the desert.
His mission is urgent. The Lord is near to briong His Kingdom. We must prepare his ways!
This voice still resonates today.
Not only because between three days and Christmas. But because the Lord’s return is near. Return that will give life to the Kingdom of God.
There is no more time! Our immediate conversion is needed!
The Gospel names public and religious offices at the time of Jesus’ birth. God has his own mysterious plans.
His word is carried into the wilderness and not into the temple.
This is why one should not judge according to appearances! Discernment cannot be obtained quickly!
The careful reflection that is accompanied by the light that comes from God is needed.
Let us learn this teaching in order to understand the signs that the Lord is sending us!
Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
