DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
Evangelium Matt 2:1-12
Cum natus esset Iesus in Béthlehem Iuda in diébus Heródis regis, ecce, Magi ab Oriénte venerunt Ierosólymam, dicéntes: Ubi est, qui natus est rex Iudæórum?
E’ la festa dell’Epifania di Gesu’! Significa la sua manifestazione dopo la nascita il giorno di Natale. Gesu’ si manifesta per la prima volta a persone che non appartengono al popolo eletto. E’ l’anticipazione della Chiesa che raccoglie tutti i popoli.Ma non si limita ai Re Magi. Gesu’ si manifesta anche a tutti noi. Possiamo ricordare quando questo e’ avvenuto per ciascuno di noi. Quando, tramite lo Spirito Santo, abbiamo riconosciuto il Signore!
In quel momento c’e’ stata per ciascuno di noi un’Epifania di Dio, del Suo amore, della Sua Bonta’, della sua Sapienza.
L’immagine della stella e’ probabilmente una luce per loro soltanto, che li guidava nel loro cammino. Come nella nostra vita vi sono state delle stelle, delle luci che ci hanno guidato.
Abbiamo cosi fatto la scelta di seguire il Signore.
I Magi hanno consegnato i doni dell’oro il dono del Re, l’incenso il dono del sacrificio e la mirra il dono profetico.
Come sono diversi i Re Magi ed Erode! I primi sono sinceri e rispettosi di Dio, mentre Erode e’ geloso ed invidioso, interessato solo al suo utile immediato e spinto da desideri omicidi!
La bellissima profezia di Isaia parla della luce che splendera’ a Gerusalemme, della Chiesa rimasta fedele al Signore. Occorre essere pazienti. Ora occorre restare nascosti, ma tra poco, forse pochi mesi, potremo rivelarci e la luce della Chiesa splendera’ per tutti i popoli!
Abbiamo questa missione. Il Signore ci da la forza e la fede per perseverare. Come con i Magi il Signore ci indichera’ la via!
Sia lodato Gesu’ Cristo! Sempre sia lodato!

Gospel Matt 2:1-12
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, Magi came from the East to Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born King of the Jews?
It is the feast of the Epiphany of Jesus!
It means its manifestation after birth on Christmas day. Jesus appears for the first time to people who do not belong to the chosen people. It is the anticipation of the Church that gathers all peoples, but it is not limited to the Magi. Jesus also manifests himself to all of us.
We can remember when this happened for each of us. How through the Holy Spirit we have recognized the Lord! At that moment there was an Epiphany of God, of His love, of His Goodness, of His Wisdom.
The image of the star is probably a light for them alone, which guided them on their journey.
As in our life there have been stars, lights that have guided us. We thus made the choice to follow the Lord.
The Magi gave the gifts of gold, the gift of the King, incense the gift of sacrifice and myrrh, the prophetic gift. How different are the Magi and Herod! The former are sincere and respectful of God, while Herod is jealous and envious, interested only in his immediate benefit.
The beautiful prophecy of Isaiah speaks of the light that will shine in Jerusalem, the Church remained faithful to the Lord. You have to be patient.
Now it is necessary to remain hidden, but in a short time, perhaps a few months, we will be able to reveal ourselves.
We have this mission. I the Lord gives us the strength and the faith to persevere.
Just as with the Magi the Lord will show us the way!
