EVANGELIUM E OMELIA\GOSPEL AND HOMILY:

Evangelium Luc 1:39-47

Gospel Luke 1:39-47
At that time, Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town of Juda. And she entered the house of Zachary and saluted Elizabeth. And it came to pass, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe in her womb leapt. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and cried out with a loud voice, saying, Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And how have I deserved that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, the moment that the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leapt for joy. And blessed is she who has believed, because the things promised her by the Lord shall be accomplished. And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour.

DALL’OMELIA DI (FROM THE HOMILY BY) DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA – VENERDI 17 DICEMBRE, ORE 8.00

FROM THE HOMILY BY DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (**)

We have reached the Friday of the Quattour Tempora. To pray that winter will be favorable both from a material and a spiritual point of view.

We must welcome the graces that God sends through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

A shoot will sprout from the trunk of Jesse. It was a trunk that now seemed dry, David’s offspring seemed dead.

But is not so! A shoot will sprout, which is the Son of God himself who will bring justice back to earth, driving out the wicked, that is, the atheist.

Jesus destroys the impiety, the evil spirit that distances us from God. And brings grace for the poor.

Even today it seems that the spiritual life has drifted away from the church.

Churches are just walls that host a winter without God. But from the apparently dead trunk, life will spring up again! Faith and grace will return!

For the wicked it will be the end, but for the poor, faithful Christians it will be a great victory, a great joy!

Praised be Jesus Christ! Always be praised!
