DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
Oggi celebriamo l’impressione delle sacre stimmate a San Francesco.
Salito sul Monte La Verna, due anni prima della sua morte, S. Francesco ricevette le stimmate. Gli apparve un serafino (un angelo di fuoco) con sei ali. Ma le sua mani e piedi erano inchiodati ad una croce. S. Francesco si chiese il motivo della visione e comprese che era per lui! Francesco doveva diventare una fiaccola ardente per Dio con il segno delle ferite di Gesu’. La ferita del costato in particolare produceva moltissimo sangue.
Molti altri santi hanno poi ricevuto questo dono: le stesse sofferenze di Gesu’ Cristo! Non c’e’ infatti vero amore per Dio senza le sofferenze! Quanto e’ prezioso il segno delle stimmate!
Si tratta di una Grazia speciale! Impariamo dunque a portare le nostre croci, le nostre sofferenze! Il nostro amore sara’ piu’ sincero e vero! Per amore del Signore. Questa e’ la via per il Paradiso!

Today we celebrate the impression of the sacred stigmata on St. Francis. Having climbed Mount La Verna, two years before his death, St. Francis received the stigmata.
A seraph (a fiery angel) with six wings appeared to him. But his hands and feet were nailed to a cross.
St. Francis wondered the reason for the vision and understood that it was for him! Francis was to become a burning torch for God with the sign of Jesus’ wounds.
The wound in the side in particular produced a great deal of blood.
Many other saints then received this gift: the same sufferings of Jesus Christ! In fact, there is no true love for God without suffering!
How precious is the sign of the stigmata! It is a special Grace!
Let us therefore learn to carry our crosses, our sufferings! Our love will be more sincere and true! For the love of the Lord. This is the way to Heaven!
