DALL’OMELIA DI DON ENRICO RONCAGLIA (*)
Oggi festeggiamo San Pio da Petralcina, confessore della fede. Conosciuto anche semplicemente come Padre Pio, pseudonimo di
Francesco Forgione (Pietrelcina, 25 maggio 1887 – San Giovanni
Rotondo, 23 settembre 1968), è stato un presbitero italiano,
dell’Ordine dei frati minori cappuccini (O.F.M.Cap.); la Chiesa
cattolica lo venera come santo e ne celebra
la memoria liturgica il 23 settembre, anniversario della morte.
E’ uno dei santi di prima grandezza. Santo molto discusso in vita, avendo ricevuto persecuzioni da parte della chiesa. I suoi devoti, specialmente i sacerdoti e seminaristi, subivano l’ostracismo da parte dei modernisti. Ha portato i segni delle stimmate per 50 anni. Il sacerdote deve vivere in una comunione particolare con Cristo. Sull’altare partecipa della passione di Cristo, Cristo Sacerdote e vittima. San Pio e’ stato esaltato al massimo da Gesu’ Cristo, proprio nel periodo in cui la Chiesa subiva la crisi del Concilio Vaticano II.
E’ stato sempre chiamato “Padre” in quanto padre di anime, intercessore in terra e in cielo. Ha convertito e ispirato generazioni di uomini, donne e giovani. Anche oggi la presenza morale e spirituale di Padre Pio si fa sentire. Molti hanno sentito la sua presenza dopo una preghiera rivolta a lui.
Con questa S.Messa oggi, compleanno di Padre Pio, pongo sotto la protezione di Padre Pio tutti voi che seguite la messa anche in differita!

Today we celebrate Saint Pio of Petralcina, confessor of the faith. Also known simply as Padre Pio, pseudonym of Francesco Forgione (Pietrelcina, 25 May 1887 – San Giovanni Rotondo, 23 September 1968), was an Italian presbyter, of the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor (O.F.M.Cap.); the church Catholic venerates him as a saint and celebrates him the liturgical memorial on September 23, the anniversary of death.
He is one of the saints of the first magnitude. Saint much discussed in life, having received persecutions from the church. Its devotees, especially priests and seminarians, were ostracized by the modernists. He has carried the marks of the stigmata for 50 years.
The priest must live in a particular communion with Christ. On the altar he participates in the passion of Christ, Christ the Priest and victim. St. Pius was exalted to the maximum by Jesus Christ, precisely in the period in which the Church was suffering the crisis of the Second Vatican Council.
He has always been called “Father” as a father of souls, an intercessor on earth and in heaven. He has converted and inspired generations of men, women and young people.
Even today the moral and spiritual presence of Padre Pio makes itself felt. Many felt his presence after a prayer addressed to him.
With this Holy Mass today, Padre Pio’s birthday, I place under the protection of Padre Pio all of you who follow the mass, even deferred!
